Grace V.The big advantage of a handheld UVB lamp is simple: you take the lamp to the area, rather than positioning yourself around the lamp.
Dermalight combines 311nm narrowband UVB with a compact handheld design. Move it between targeted areas such as the arms, legs or torso, or attach the comb when using it on the scalp.

This device emits ultraviolet B radiation. UV exposure carries risks. Speak to your GP or dermatologist before starting UVB phototherapy at home and follow the instructions supplied with your device.
If you are unsure whether UVB phototherapy is suitable for you, do not use the device until you have spoken to your doctor.
Yes. Scalp access is one of the main reasons to choose the handheld model. The supplied comb attachment helps part the hair so the UVB light has clearer access to the scalp.
It comes down to how you want to use it. The handheld Dermalight moves with you, making it easier to position over different targeted areas and giving you the comb attachment for scalp access. The desktop model stays positioned for you, making it the better choice if hands-free use is the priority.
Yes. Protective eyewear is supplied with the unit and must be worn during use. Replace it if it becomes lost or damaged.
Follow the session length and frequency advised by your GP, dermatologist or other treating healthcare professional. APES does not provide individual UVB dosing or session-length guidance.
